Job Description:               Capital Works Project Manager

Location:                               Dublin

Salary:                                  €80k guide

Reports to:                               Head of Capital Projects

Details:                                     Full-time, permanent role.

Pension Scheme: basic 37 hour week

26 days annual leave per annum

 

CapEx have been exclusively retained by a leading Healthcare provider who is currently undertaking a €200m + capital expansion of their facilities nationally.

They are seeking a Project Manager who has experience working in a client facing environment, either with another client’s facility, with a project management consultancy or engineering consultancy or with a recognised contractor who has worked in the healthcare sector / live hospital environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who has managed projects ideally within healthcare and is seeking a role working directly with the client.

 

Job Purpose

The Capital Project Manager will work in conjunction with the management team and the Head of Capital Projects to manage and co-ordinate the planning and implementation of various capital and engineering projects in line with the approved project objectives.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Under the general direction and control of the Head of Capital Projects, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring that capital projects and refurbishments are completed within the time, cost and quality parameters in conjunction with all key stakeholders.

 

  • Ensuring that the concept, development, implementation and close-out of each assigned project is managed under recognised project management principles and procedures.

 

  • The preparation of draft project plans, cost estimates and implementation schedules for the purpose of project option appraisal.

 

  • Providing regular technical and project management briefings to the Head of Capital Projects and Project Team.

 

  • Ensuring the satisfactory delivery of the project and that appropriate meetings and consultations are held as required.

 

  • Co-ordinating the tender and implementation stages of the project, having close liaison with the design team and site supervisory staff.

 

  • Anticipating difficulties and problems, especially those arising from phasing, variations, commissioning and vacating and ensuring that, where necessary, these are either resolved directly or brought to the notice of the Project Team for decisions or avoidable claims for delays, variations or extension of time claims etc.

 

  • Daily monitoring of all active construction sites within the facility and communication with the appointed PSDP & PSCS.

 

  • The daily inspection of work in progress on site on all minor and major projects on hand.

 

  • The presentation of regular updates to the facilities Project Team and Head of Capital Projects for each project on hand under the headings “time, cost, quality, Safety”.

 

  • The update of all project schedules/ forecasts.

 

  • The coordination and handover or all relevant O&M Manuals, as-built plans, and technical information relevant to each completed project to the facilities maintenance department and department manager if deemed necessary.

 

Professional Requirements

You shall ideally have experience with a technical qualification in engineering, surveying or construction management but are open to those who have progressed through a trades qualification and have secured some professional development.

 

Experience
