Role Overview:
As a Junior Site Engineer, you will be involved in assisting the site management team with essential engineering tasks, ensuring that construction works are carried out to exact specifications, quality standards, and timelines. This position provides valuable hands-on experience and is ideal for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and passionate about a career in construction engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveying & Setting Out: Assist with the accurate setting out of site work in alignment with project plans and designs.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor work quality and report on any variances or issues to ensure that all construction meets company and client standards.
- Documentation: Help maintain site documentation, including drawings, records, and daily logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to the site team, interpreting designs and specifications, and assisting with engineering solutions.
- Health & Safety: Support the site team in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety policies.
- Progress Reporting: Report on project progress, flagging any issues or delays and assisting in coordinating solutions.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Up to 1-2 years of experience in a site engineering role, internships or placement experience will also be considered.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering principles, construction methods, and reading technical drawings.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse site teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in setting out and reporting tasks.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CAD or other engineering software is advantageous.
