Salary: €60-70k guide

Logistics Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to the overall Transport & Logistics Plan for the project and the successful implementation of the Traffic Management Plan. The role involves the local and international management of hazardous & non-hazardous transport (road, sea, rail) and other logistic services, in order to deliver the project goals for transport services (using both internal/external transport companies).
Job Overview / Key Tasks
Development and implementation of the Transport & Logistics Plan
- Developing the logistics concept for the project, which involves the organisation of the transport of containers from the Project Site to various destinations.
- Positioning plan towards third parties both strategic partnerships with haz/sensitive waste transport companies and local solutions for transport of commodity waste
You will have a clear understanding all Client requirements relation to Transport & Logistics, the development of transport solutions and identifyication of market evolutions in transport activities and companies.
International Procurement of Transport
- Responisible for the international & intermodal transport procurement to fulfill project contract requirements.
You will be responsible for contract negotiations for international transport with third parties to realise long term cooperations, yearly price negotiations and relationship management
Responsible for the execution of transport activities within Europe
- Responsible for the correct execution of transport
This will involve following up the transport quality of third parties, the management of of the interface with the companies internal plant / transport subsidiaries and resolving complaints of project stakeholders
Management of incoming customer orders & internal disposal orders
- Ensure the efficient processing of daily orders
You will be responsible for ensuring proper communication with the customer, hauliers, internal services suppliers. In addition you shall report problems that interfere with project delivery and programme to the project team
Standardised, aligned & efficient administration (SAP, CZ,…)
- Manage the organisation & follow-up of correct and timely administration in order to make possible (1) correct delivery (& registration) & (2) timely and accurate invoicing.
- Making use of standardized systems (SAP, Customer Zone, Supplier zone, …) in order to have an efficient administration & to get/give support from/to other customer logistic teams
You shall ensure correct standardised & aligned use of the Unity systems (SAP, CZ, Supplier zone, Ensure that arrangements that are different from the standard flow are always correctly communicated on time to invoicing and S&M
Compliance: Together with the Site Waste Coordinator and the Traffic Manager ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements of the project
You shall ensure that all logistics activities do not cause, or contribute to, the non-compliance of planning consent conditions, activities comply with all relevant IEL conditions and ensure project Waste Log is being administered correctly
The Role:
Management of the team: Responsible for the practical organisation of the logistics activities of the scheduling personnel with as aim supervision of the logistics schedule
- Training on T&L Plan and on the TMP
- Monitoring for adherence
- Problem solving
Leading & Motivating Personnel: Leading, coaching, motivating and following up personnel so that it is clear to all what is expected of them, so that they have the needed competencies and they efficiently and effectively execute the assigned tasks.
- Drawing up objectives
- Conducting performance reviews
- Monitoring the results and adjusting accordingly
- Communication, conflict handling
Finance: Evaluate & manage cost efficiency of the logistics chain.
- Analyse (e.g., quarterly) extra/unforeseen costs. Look for the reason// improvements.
- Communicate with hauliers about inefficiency.
Improvement: Managing and/or improving the existing organisation/working methods to ensure efficient and uniform work by the department (in line with all legal requirements & in line with standardised methods).
- Give suggestions to improve processes.
- Contribute to ensuring maximisation of the synergy between what is possible in SAP and the projects requirements.
Required skills:
- University level or equal by experience
- 10 years’ experience in transport
- Knowledge of the waste/transport regulations (administrative part)
- Detailed knowledge of the TFS regulations (Trans Frontier Shipment of waste) in the context of international waste transport.
