Operations Manager / Director – (Build) – London £120-135k + package
CapEx Recruitment are recruiting on behalf our client, a medium sized Construction Group, with operations in the UK & Ireland
The company are seeking an Operations Manager / Director to oversee the contracting arm of their business.
Established for over thirty years, the company specialise in residential developments typically of 10-100 units throughout London.
They have a number of major schemes both under construction and at planning stage on their own development land in addition to working in partnership with a number of community associations, charities & faith based organisations to develop apartment’s schemes, community spaces and facilities.
With a solid pipeline of developments for the next 3 years including a £10m scheme in Islington and further projects to commence in 2020 in South London (£23m) and North London (£13m) the company is seeking to strengthen its capability to deliver projects directly via its construction arm.
They have office locations in Central London and North London with options to work in either location.
An overview of the role …
The Operations Manager / Director role will be a stand-alone position reporting into the Managing Director with full responsibility the London business unit.
- Liaison with clients and being the face of the business in London.
- Reporting to Managing Director.
- Overseeing construction projects mainly focused in the residential sector
- Full P&L responsibility for the construction division of the business
Necessary skills and requirements:
- Third level qualification in Civil Engineering , Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
- Have exposure to delivering projects £10-30m
- Ideally exposure to D&B / Developer lead residential projects
- Strong customers focus skills, with the ability to build relationships and networks with strategic stakeholders
- Have a sound knowledge of current construction techniques, build ability and value engineering concepts
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to demonstrate financial, commercial and business development acumen.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at a high level of quality
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
