Capex have been retained for a progressive specialist contractor / manufacturer based in the Midlands area. The company is centrally located accessible to those based in the Midlands, Western or Northeast regions.
Reporting to the Head of Design and Engineering, the Architectural Technologist works with the project team in a 3D data environment to develop and coordinate the design information and get it to manufacturing/construction issue.
Head Office is in the Midlands, Remote working with regular office visits would be considered.
The Role:
- Creating Architectural Models for projects in Revit and generating pack of IFC information from this – Plans, Sections, Elevations, Window and Door Schedules etc.
- Merging and co-ordinating other models (Revit, Navis Works) in line with the agreed architectural model – As-Builts, M&E & Steel Models
- Liaising with steel detailers, M&E consultants, fire consultants, the client, clients architects and other consultants and co-ordinating the detailed design on projects.
- Reviewing and checking consultants drawings and design information.
- Developing and issuing project specific details and specification.
- Preparing Room Data Sheets as required
- Analysing architectural plans and details for compliance with Building Regulations and highlighting any possible risks or problems and amending accordingly where agreed.
- Contributing to the development of project Design Deliverables Schedules, and working to get all information issued in line with this.
- Visiting sites to check progress and inspect works.
- Working in a common data environment (BIM 360 and the Autodesk Construction Cloud), along with its processes, workflows, procedures and security and ensuring its integrity.
- Preparing models for tenders including a quantities schedule.
- Reviewing manufacturing/construction information prior to IFC.
- Checking information for compliance with project BIM execution plan.
The Person:
- Degree Qualified
- Proficient in the use of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, MS Office
